DIAMA PROJECT: the fourth consortium meeting ends on a note of hope

Started on June 12, 2019, the fourth consortium meeting of the DIAMA project, which took place in Bamako, Mali, ended on friday, June 14, 2019, on a note of hope.

The promise to commit to the production of required quantities of data and better patient monitoring was taken from the 17 participants from the 9 DIAMA project member countries, including Benin, Rwanda, Cameroon, Senegal, Guinea, DRC, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Mali.

This meeting was organized by the University Clinical Research Center (UCRC) and the HIV / AIDS and Tuberculosis Research and Training Center (SEREFO). It aimed to evaluate the actions taken and to reflect on the next steps in the implementation of the project.

“A lot of improvement has been made in relation to patient monitoring and data production, we are still counting on everyone for the next two years….” says Professor Dissou Affolabi, Diama Project Coordinator / Mycobacteria Reference Laboratory (MRL).

He then thanked the Mali team for the warm welcome they received, and wished each of the participants a safe journey back to their respective countries.
